Eye in the Sky: Enable powerful cockpit camera capabilities

We are excited to announce a new cockpit camera that will take your cockpit video capturing to new heights

High-resolution cockpit and aircraft video cameras have improved flight data monitoring capabilities to aid in operational surveillance and to answer critical questions during incident investigations. This technology has become more common in today’s airspace, as in-flight video recordings are invaluable in determining pilot, crew, and passenger safety while providing cost-saving insights.

The Benefit of Cockpit Cameras

Traditional flight data recorders that combine voice and engine data offer insights that can assist in incident investigations. However, cockpit visuals offer much more information for reviewing operational procedures and critical inquiries. Cockpit visuals can also complement flight data monitoring equipment, particularly on older aircraft where robust digital data is not available.

The Eye in the Sky Cockpit Camera

Introducing the Eye in the Sky Cockpit Camera. A camera developed by the industry for the industry, this compact device captures cockpit video, audio, and flight data. Due to its various features, the Eye in the Sky is a versatile piece of hardware that can provide insight into various operations within the aircraft.

Capture Audio and Video

Touting a high-definition camera, the Eye in the Sky captures vivid, smooth wide-angle cockpit video focused on the instrument panel and the pilot’s view. Mounted over the pilot’s shoulder, the powerful HD camera is coupled with three channels of audio input recording. Thus, it can capture the pilot & radios, intercoms, and ambient sound.

Capture Flight Data

Equipped with a synchronized GPS, the Eye in the Sky (EITS) provides accurate aircraft position, altitude, ground speed, G-force, and heading details. Built-in accelerometers record the G-force in the X, Y, and Z axis.

Safely Secure Your Captured Data and Ensure Recording

A battery in the unit ensures data capture for up to two minutes after shutdown or in the case of power loss. The parameters are captured for up to 25 hours and are recorded on a secure SD card within a crash-resistant and tamper-proof housing.

Use the Supplied Software to Analyze Your Recorded Data

Remove the secure SD card with the keyed access tool and insert the EITS card reader into your computer to download the fight data. Analyze and export your footage and data using the supplied Eye in the Sky software suite.

Review Eye in the Sky Footage of Your Air Operations

Showing aircrew, instruments, and engine parameters to diagnose flight parameters and maintenance anomalies and to record vital evidence for incident investigation. Support pilot testimony and identify intermittent faults.

Gain In-Depth Insight into Aircraft Operations

Ensure that your aircraft is operating to optimum performance by being able to review engine and instrument parameters. It is an invaluable tool for enhancing training, informing safety management protocols, and verifying aircrew performance.

Enable Fast and Accurate Investigations

Eye in the Sky enables fast and accurate occurrence investigation and is an effective training tool for crew de-briefing. If a picture is worth a thousand words, Eye in the Sky’s high-definition video, audio, and data are priceless.

Camera technology onboard any aircraft is one of the best investments for operators to equip older aircraft with compliant flight data monitoring for flight operation quality assurance (FOQA) programs.
