What type of engineering role did you take on at SKYTRAC? (i.e. your position, responsibilities)
Software Engineering Co-op student
How was your experience working within the aerospace industry?
I had a very positive experience working in the aerospace industry. I was able to learn a great deal about an area of engineering that interests me. The experience has allowed me to grow my engineering skills, as well as provided me with direction for my post-secondary education and future career.
What did you like best about working with SKYTRAC?
I enjoyed the opportunities to learn new skills and put my existing knowledge into practice. As well, the sense of community at SKYTRAC made working there a very positive experience.
How did SKYTRAC provide meaningful work experience during your tenure as a Co-op student?
During my tenure, I worked on several meaningful projects. At the end of my term, I could already see the projects being used by other company members. I also learned many new skills, which will be helpful to me later in my career.
Will you be looking to pursue meaningful work within the aerospace sector further?
I have not yet decided which field of engineering I would like to study or which industry I would like to work in. However, I am definitely considering the aerospace sector.
Would you recommend SKYTRAC’s Co-op program to other students?
I would definitely recommend SKYTRAC’s Co-op program to other students. I was able to learn and grow so much in a relatively short period of time. It was also great to experience what an engineering job might look like on a day-to-day basis.
How has your perception of aviation changed before and after your co-op with SKYTRAC?
Prior to my co-op, I did not realize how rapidly the aviation industry evolves. During my co-op I learned how the aviation industry reacts to new situations and is continuously leading the development of new technology.
